IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (14465) 1993 NB / TYC 6858-01080-1 event on 2012 Sep 20, 01:56 UT Visible from E USA, E Canada Summary ------- On 2012 Sep 20 UT, the 11 km diameter asteroid (14465) 1993 NB will occult a 9.4 mag star in the constellation Sagittarius for observers along a path across E USA, E Canada. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 6.7 mag to 16.1 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 0.7 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
