IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (859) Bouzareah / TYC 6786-02062-1 event on 2012 Oct 07, 15:29 UT Visible from Arabia Summary ------- On 2012 Oct 07 UT, the 77 km diameter asteroid (859) Bouzareah will occult a 10.1 mag star in the constellation Scorpius for observers along a path across Arabia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 6.1 mag to 16.2 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.2 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, TMO astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
