IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (0) 2005 TV189 / TYC 0708-00535-1 event on 2012 Nov 13, 22:26 UT Visible from possibly Europe, Africa Summary ------- On 2012 Nov 13 UT, the 89 km diameter asteroid (0) 2005 TV189 will occult a 11.5 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across possibly Europe, Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 11.5 mag to 23.0 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 4.0 seconds. This update is based on historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
