IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (656) Beagle / UCAC4-562-034292 event on 2019 Dec 21, 07:02 UT Visible from S USA, Mexico Summary ------- On 2019 Dec 21 UT, the 53.1 km diameter asteroid (656) Beagle will occult a 12.4 mag star in the constellation Gemini for observers along a path across S USA, Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.97 mag to 14.19 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 4.6 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
