IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (914) Palisana / UCAC4 600-16890 event on 2020 Aug 09, 01:24 UT Visible from Europe, N Africa Summary ------- On 2020 Aug 09 UT, the 84 km diameter asteroid (914) Palisana will occult a 9.5 mag star in the constellation Auriga for observers along a path across Europe, N Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.63 mag to 14.11 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.9 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
