IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (743) Eugenisis / UCAC4 377-066007 event on 2021 Jan 10, 12:13 UT Visible from S USA Summary ------- On 2021 Jan 10 UT, the 52.3 km diameter asteroid (743) Eugenisis will occult a 13.6 mag star in the constellation Virgo for observers along a path across S USA. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.42 mag to 15.94 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.4 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
