IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (190) Ismene / TYC 0639-00425-1 event on 2021 Jan 28, 22:34 UT Visible from Africa, South America Summary ------- On 2021 Jan 28 UT, the 197 km diameter asteroid (190) Ismene will occult a 9.5 mag star in the constellation Cetus for observers along a path across Africa, South America. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.30 mag to 13.79 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 12.7 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
