IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (5092) Manara / TYC 2953-00375-1 event on 2021 Feb 03, 18:55 UT Visible from Russia, Europe, Africa Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 03 UT, the 24.9845166446519 km diameter asteroid (5092) Manara will occult a 10.2 mag star in the constellation Auriga for observers along a path across Russia, Europe, Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 6.69 mag to 16.89 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.5 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
