IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (48) Doris / TYC 6270-00100-1 event on 2021 Feb 13, 18:20 UT Visible from SE Australia Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 13 UT, the 222 km diameter asteroid (48) Doris will occult a 9.6 mag star in the constellation Sagittarius for observers along a path across SE Australia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 3.86 mag to 13.43 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 6.2 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
