IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (63) Ausonia / UCAC4 313-088759 event on 2021 Feb 28, 07:25 UT Visible from South America Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 28 UT, the 99.6 km diameter asteroid (63) Ausonia will occult a 12.3 mag star in the constellation Scorpius for observers along a path across South America. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.49 mag to 11.73 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 5.1 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
