IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (308) Polyxo / UCAC4 550-021348 event on 2022 May 06, 02:35 UT Visible from NE USA, SE Canada Summary ------- On 2022 May 06 UT, the 136.34684417825 km diameter asteroid (308) Polyxo will occult a 8.9 mag star in the constellation Orion for observers along a path across NE USA, SE Canada. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.00 mag to 13.93 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.620 seconds. This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
