IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (96) Aegle / TYC 5515-00643-1 event on 2023 Mar 22, 02:53 UT Visible from Africa, Central America Summary ------- On 2023 Mar 22 UT, the 174.4 km diameter asteroid (96) Aegle will occult a 10.4 mag star in the constellation Crater for observers along a path across Africa, Central America. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.36 mag to 11.38 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 15.130 seconds. This update is based on, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center. This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (http://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium).
